Al is a native of Chicago and currently is a resident of Tinley Park. He has two grown children, Brittany, and Joe. Al enjoys traveling, golfing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Most of his career has been working in corporate retail as the Director of Store Growth and Planning in the high-end jewelry industry. For the past 5 years, Al has been the Executive Director of Guildhaus.
Al is part of the Guildhaus Alumni Association and a board member for Hope Outreach and S.O.A.R.

Marelyn Garcia was born in New Jersey and raised in Northwest Chicago before making the Southside her home, where she currently resides. A proud mother of six and grandmother of five, Marelyn spends her free time deeply involved with her family, whom she considers her greatest joy. She is also passionate about mentoring women as they navigate and heal from challenging life experiences, offering guidance and support to help them grow stronger and more independent. Marelyn and her husband share a dream of one day renovating an RV and traveling across the United States. Until then, she serves as the backbone of Guildhaus, managing finances with dedication, precision, and care.

Kati is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor dedicated to helping individuals build meaningful and lasting recovery. With experience in residential treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs, she is passionate about helping individuals access the support and resources needed to create positive change in their lives.
Born and raised in Blue Island, Illinois, Kati earned her degree in Addiction Studies and is currently pursuing a degree in Social Work at Governors State University. She began her journey with Guildhaus as an intern in March 2022 and continued volunteering after completing her internship.
Kati joined the Guildhaus team as a counselor in August 2023 and was promoted to Clinical Director in June 2026. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment to recovery make her a valued leader and advocate for the individuals we serve.
James Davis III

James Davis III was born in Montgomery, AL and moved to Illinois when he was 16. He graduated from Oak Forest High School and then joined the Army Reserves. Meeting different people from different walks of life influenced him to want to go into Psychology, thus he studied and graduated with an associate in psychology at Moraine Valley Community College. He continues his education at Depaul University. During this duration he achieved his CADC and has been a Counselor for 3 years, while still attending drill once a month. His passion is to help as many as he can overcome their hurdles in life.

Peter Valentino

Emeritus Counselor
Peter grew up in Riverside and now resides in Lyons. He is married and the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren. With over 30 years of experience in the field of addiction recovery, Pete dedicated 13 years of service to Guildhaus before retiring.
We are deeply grateful for his years of commitment and passion for serving the hundreds of men who have walked through the doors of Guildhaus.
Peter continues to volunteer his time by speaking to Drug Court graduates and organizing an annual “Big Book Run,” bringing books and hope to men and women in treatment facilities.
Pete enjoys motorcycle riding and exploring the mountains throughout the United States. His travels have taken him as far as Nova Scotia.
“Just not quite tired of having a good time just yet!”
